Last month our AHTS PRESIDENT HUBERT was fixed to tow the Bulker OCEAN COSMOS (LOA 288M draught 17m, DWT 171.191, GRT 85.868, cargo 157.000 Ton of Coal) from offshore Lisbon to Ensted in Denmark. At arrival offshore Lisbon the President Hubert took over the tow from a Russian tug which was not powerfull enough and not approved by the warranty surveyor to tow the vessel through the Bay of Biscay and the English Channel.

For passing the English Channel an additional steering tug, our Union Diamond (63 TBP), was connected to the Stern of the OCEAN COSMOS. Bad weather in the North Sea convinced the owners of the OCEAN COSMOS to keep the Union Diamond connected all the way to Ensted.

For passing the Great Belt two additional tugs were ordered. One additional tug connected to the stern of the OCEAN COSMOS together with the Union Diamond.

After delivery of the Ocean Cosmos at Ensted the AHTS PRESIDENT HUBERT and the UNION DIAMOND both continued their voyage to join the Crane Barge Hermod of Heerema Marine Contractors at the Wintershall Location. The Union Diamond connected to the barge H302 and towed her to Flushing, the President Hubert will assist the Hermod for the next couple of months.
