	With our marine life and environment being so valued and so precious URS has only one policy concerning environmental protection – our standard procedures must never be less than the highest possible quality. At URS safety and environmental care will never be compromised and it is our motivated and well-trained personnel that are at the heart of this determination.Our tug crews have vast experience in handling the damage (actual and potential) from oil spills, hazardous chemicals and the wide range of other pollutants,
which they keep updated and enhanced by participating in specialised programmes and joint exercises with the local authorities.
Backing them up is “Union Beaver”, a powerful seagoing salvage craft fully equipped (including a sophisticated spray system for dispersants) to ensure that maximum attention is paid to pollution prevention no matter how complex the salvage operation. All it’s systems for recovering pollutants of all kinds have been tested under various open sea conditions with the Belgian authorities.
