To ensure maximum availability and efficiency of its fleet URS has its own repair yard – B1.

Through this yard URS provides a full range of services to both its own fleet and to third parties including the Smit and Fairplay groups:

Preventive Maintenance

• All general painting including tailshafts, rudders, etc.
• Specialised maintenance and complete overhaul of main engines, auxiliary engines and thrusters
• All such repairs can, where necessary, be executed under the supervision and final approval of classification societies or national authorities.

Repairs and Modifications

• All forms of repair, prioritised as and when required.
• All modifications needed to carry out specific tasks (such as cable laying, survey works, diving works, etc.). Such modifications can vary from installing additional machinery to building a complete office for offshore surveyors on a diving support vessel.

The resources and facilities include:

• Specialists in all kinds of marine needs such as steelwork, engine work, electrical and electronic skills.
• A modern, well-equipped workshop
• A yard with a total surface of 8265 m²
• Berthage 140m long with a water depth of 6m.
• The capacity to rent out dry-docks from the Port of Antwerp (currently used about 20 times per year).
